Privacy Policy
How Strange Canada handles your information: plainly, minimally, and without selling anything to anyone.
Last updated: October 17, 2026.
The short version
Strange Canada is a static website. We don’t run user accounts, we don’t sell personal information, and we collect as little as we reasonably can.
What we collect
- Analytics. We use Google Analytics 4 to understand which articles get read, roughly where readers are, and what devices they use. This data is aggregated and helps us decide which oddities to cover next. Google Analytics uses cookies to distinguish visitors.
- Advertising. Strange Canada may display ads served by Google AdSense. Google and its partners may use cookies to serve ads based on your visits to this and other sites. You can opt out of personalized advertising at Google’s ad settings or via aboutads.info.
- Email. If you write to us, we receive your email address and whatever you put in the message. We use it to reply, and for nothing else.
Cookies
Cookies on this site come from the analytics and advertising services above. Your browser lets you block or delete cookies at any time; the site will still work fine.
Third-party links
We link out to town, museum, and attraction websites. Their privacy practices are their own, and this policy doesn’t cover them.
Children
This is a general-audience travel site and is not directed at children under 13. We don’t knowingly collect information from children.
Changes
If this policy changes, we’ll update this page and note the new date at the top.
